Introduction

BACKGROUND

Convenient Sign-Up with Remote Verification

In Korea, food delivery and grocery services are highly advanced, offering well-structured systems that provide seamless and convenient user experiences. I frequently used to use mobile apps for grocery shopping. As I live in the Netherlands, I’ve been observing apps like Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and Picnic.

Albert Heijn’s recent update, introducing an English option, stood out as a step forward in accessibility. By comparison, I noticed opportunities for improvement in Jumbo and Picnic. While I appreciated Picnic’s charming illustrations and visual assets, its onboarding process lacked inclusivity and efficiency, making it my choice for this redesign project.

OVERVIEW

Improving the Onboarding Flow for the Picnic App

  • Objective: Redesign the onboarding flow to ensure users can create an account easily and intuitively, catering to both Dutch and international audiences.

  • Scope: Focus on the “Create Account” process during the onboarding experience.

  • Target Audience: Dutch users, international students, and expats living in the Netherlands.
